What is a TCA Chemical Peel and What Can It Do for Your Skin?

What is a TCA Peel? TCA stands for Trichloroacetic Acid . It is derived from acetic acid (or the vinegar family). TCA is non-toxic solution that has been used as an ingredient in skin peeling for many years. TCA face peel is usually stronger than other peels because it penetrates deeper into the skin, and hence offers more advanced benefits for the skin. Depending on the strength (percentage of acid) of the peel, it may cause a burning sensation when applied to the face. The is generally little to no pain once the TCA peel treatment is washed off. TCA Peels Remove the Damaged Top Layer of Skin When a TCA chemical peel is applied on the face, it works by sloughing of the top layer of skin cells. This top layer then continues to peel off over the next few days ranging up to a week. Once the old top skin layer is completely peeled off, the smooth, undamaged skin layer underneath will be revealed. TCA Peels come in 3 Different Strengths TCA Peels come in 3 strengths:...
